It’s so easy to just join the bandwagon and scream out to cancel someone. It’s much harder to actually listen and determine the merits for yourself.
Joe Rogan gets a lot of misguided grief. And he’s, by far, the best listener on the planet.
Nobody is more open to ideas, alternative views and interests as this stand-up comic. He transformed podcasting into a long format art. He stuck to his own instincts to become a major force and influence on American culture. And he did it on his own dime, without investors and consultants and a board of directors.
You’ve got to appreciate the historical value of his role as a disruptor to mainstream news and entertainment. He went against the grain to build a pathway to financial success for other YouTubers, TikTokers and unconventional content creators.
Let’s give the guy his props.
Song Background:
I watch The Joe Rogan Experience podcast quite a bit (Along with the other 11 million listeners per episode). His guests, from all walks of life, are stellar. I listen and learn.
Cancel culture came after Rogan due to a bad joke or for promoting alternative Covid-19 treatments. CNN altered his image to make him look sickly after overcoming the virus. Even Neil Young (I bought almost all of his albums.) joined the petty parade and took his songs off Spotify in protest.
It was all a ridiculous virtue signaling crusade.
Shout Out:
This is a shout out for being yourself. An ordinary guy takes curiosity to a new level and rocks the mainstream media world. That deserves some applause for Joe Rogan — and for Jamie too.

Lyrics:
Turn him off, shut him down All the censors scream A common man, the American dream A victim of the hype machine Jump on the wagon, join the tribe Take a deeper look inside If you ban, if you deny Who's left on your side? This ain't no ordinary Joe He's popular for a reason ya know Listen long if you can It's from the heart of a working man He's talking to make sense To learn a point of view Now it's up to you To find your truth Turn off your spite, don't be unkind And tune in to open your mind Let others talk, let them be free You can even disagree This ain't no ordinary Joe He's popular for a reason ya know Listen long if you can It's from the heart of a working man He's talking to make sense To learn a point of view Now it's up to you To find your truth C'mon Neil
